FAMILY AGAIN(a poem by Sunsampaul)

You rock on a chair with glue
and expect to move forward.
Don't stay in despair get up and take that step.
Skill without zeal is like a car without an engine.
Going nowhere in expectant of nothing, vanity its like insanity.

It's summer a new cry echoes in the streets.
As birds sing and bells ring.
A new life it brings.
War has ended three years of waiting
Sirens has sounded
Daddy has resurrected
After two years of demise
Joy fills our hearts
Death has not prey over him
Pain has not struck
Joy to see his little angel
Yes the thought that preserved him
From the land of the dead.
It is Love that casts out fear
Now at last a family again.

Death or life
Lies with soul ties
Pains like rain
I live with no complains
Respected yet devastated
No one walks in my shoes!
All rich,well dressed
Yet I envy a poor man

One thing he has, no money can buy
No power can buy,Love even peace
Something I wish I had even a piece.
Cursed with riches yet wretched
and drenched with sorrow

A peace of mind my money
Cannot buy truth
But I  live with no lies
My heart longed for a lovely family
United with unity
Fastened to a strong tendon
Held firm by a bundle of rope
We live in the salvation of our saviour

In my family
Words are like art
We paint pictures not seen with eyes but with minds, the paintbrush is
in you, create your world and sculpture your views.
Words are weapons.
Words are flowers.
Word are paintings.
Words are more than just letters its an art.
When I remember how united we use to be
I felt like been in heaven on earth
I love my family
The best family
Family again.

PERENNIAL PSYCHOLOGY(a poem by Sunsampaul)

Thought flaunting like unseen alien
Deafens the ears of the sadist
Raping mind to sorrows
Like d humming bird causing melancholy to human dignity.

 Pains tormented
Joy dead in litmus paper
Vomiting fire like dragon lord
Lip jittering like bolster in anguished.
Enormous lingua franca formed.
Destinies truncated all for nothing

Deus unseen , worshippers worshiped
Night darkens. Eyes blinded. Day by day
Teeth gnashing. Souls raping destinies

My psychology in the philosophy of ecology
Has lodged in sociology of methodology

Aye I raped the thought of sadists
Leaving them like addicts
Spitting on them like real beast

I pay my due in dew
No time to count few
Because I live in real muse
To fuss my boo with much muse.

I lag in blanket in the market
Trading thought like jacket
Becoming an habit of sachets
All in the casket, machetes and bullets of sadist

I longed for righteousness
Just as Cleo patra long for immortality
Enjambments of my muse
Fell asleep in the thigh of fuse
Life is an irony that iron the sweet money in your family

Mayhap, many may have been psycho
But that doesn't stop them from behaving  like a hypo
I deduce my muse is sacrosanct
To exhume the slavering dam in your dungeon

PASSION WITH NO ACTION(a poem by Sunsampaul)

Passion with no action
what is the reason for your loving
if loving was a thought
whats the reason for entertaining emotions.

For once to think of love as a disease.
making the mind unfruitful
setting the heart ablaze
consuming sound judgement and rational decisions.

A broken heart like a shattered glass
you cannot see, until you close enough to feel its sting of pain.
caused by love at best

I'm blinded by ambitions, I'm guided by emotions.
I don't know my destination, but i race to my damnation.

Like a blinded drive determined to reach a destination. I'm reckless
in love with you.
see my heart.. feel my hurt. Because loving you has become my downfall.

Before I expire, just a little I ask, inspired my heart
to breath the rhythm of love so that i go with some hope that you and
I are unfinished.

Here's today, gone yesterday
Life won't change,the same remains.
In the shadow of existence
Reflections of death never fades.

Let there be love, the words was said
and there was love, twined with hate
Let there be life, the words was said
And there was life, twined with death.

In the midst of happenings the good and the bad is birthed.
Your choice is you path. To the unknown I journey..with every choice

It's those words we refuse to say that matters most.
like a hidden fountain of life.
It's those moments we share that lives forever more.
It's those memories we hold that warms our heart.
It's those hugs and kisses that nurtures our well being.
It's the laughter we share that beautiful song of festivity
It's in those eyes one loses sight of fear.
It's love unsaid that kills one's soul.

hats the reason for your affection

WHEN HARMATTAN HAMMERS YOU (a poem by Sunsampaul)

When harmattan hammers you
You begin to shiver like a busy river
Your nostrils become block like an ice block
Your brain vanished to forlorn dreams
That's when you begin to feel you're lodging between the thighs of a
dead temptress

When harmattan hammers you
You become a make up artist that start lacking customers
Mary-k become your worst enemy
You even give powder a breathing space
Even lip-sticks of various colour find themselves lost in truncated dreams
You start subscribing to wet lip alone
Painting your lip with rub
Wetting your lips like a clown who consumed
Oily substance and lost the thought of cleaning his mouth

You become a female.
Turning into amadioha with the way you bask in the thought of avoiding
scraggy lips
Becoming gay while
Wet lip made for lasses travels through your iced lip
Your face shiny with the amount of kernel oil you
Plastered on it

Your skin become feeble that it can tear at the slight of any scratch
like that of a decayed corpse
Cold, fever, and catarrh
Now become global visitors that visit the corridor of your abode
Hot water you start making you regular water for bath to avoid been
flogged by cold water

When harmattan hammers you
Your sagacious mind
Rings the bell of using protective measures
You began to massage your body with balm
Your lip became a brother to rub

You always lodge beneath the sheet of bedsheets
Gigantic sweater you put on day and night
You refuse to lie unclad and lackadaisical
You even bribe nature to be kind to your skin
While you multiply the number of pyjamas you wear at night
And jump into the arms of blanket

Your lips begin to develop
Potholes and zebra crossing
Your lips create punchlines of poetic rhymes and rhythms

Your nostrils become stiff
Yet flush out watery and thick catarrh as fountain gush out water
Your palms become strong and you become a prisoner to whitish wind

DEATH(a duet by Decent and Amarachi)

Decent

Does the dead really have ears to hear?
Do they have mouth to speak?
Do they have heart to feel?
Do they feel the pains we felt mourning, rolling on the dusty ground
crying our tears?
Do they have eyes to see?

Amarachi

I doubt, but I wish, wishing the distance of the dead and that of the
living is just few steps as Ikeja is to Oshodi,
one thing is sure, am going to see you again someday when darkness
shall assail my eyes,
hopefully up in heavens’ pray that am forgiven.

Decent

Surely you shall be forgiven, for forgiveness is of the man in white
seated above the countless hills.
In deep pains I wept, tears soaked my lashes, my eyes turned red as my
heart bleeds,
bleeding cause I still could hear the voice of your existence beating
a loud drum to my ears, piercing down to heart.

Amarachi

You never got the chance to behold how white I have become, thought
you were strong enough to escape the dark cloud of death.
It’s so hard to accept the fact you’re gone forever,
I never knew your existence can hurt so deep until you left,
I know you've reached a better place but I could give all to behold
your face the second time, the hardest thing to say is good bye!

Decent

I feel so empty, I feel so cold, I feel heavy, wishing I could turn
back the fast moving legs of time
Yes! The legs of time so I can hear your melodious voice that's brings
a second life to dead souls,
you left dumping a huge envelope of pains and sadness in my heart.

Amarachi

How come they call it good bye?
How come the good dies?
They are different words and am wondering which one did granny to?
As my baby sister has always ask;
Where do babies come from?
I told her they descend from the heavens’ and when their eyes are
closed in death, they return back to the heaven in ashes.

Decent

In dust man was made, in dust shall man return
I pleaded crawling with my kneels on the dusty ground of ashes
I pleaded, drowning in my own tears
I pleaded to them with burnt offerings,
I pleaded to our ancient fathers to spare you the pains of dining with
our ancestral ancestor’s hopefully for a second life,
and they whispered “Dead men don’t rise”

Amarachi

Yes! Dead men don’t rise,
so when I drive down the lonely lane of the other realm, If I crash
I hope you won’t celebrate when the ground shall digest my corpse
I hope you won’t mourn my dusted skin sharing souvenirs
I hope you won’t squander millions pleasing our so called customs and tradition
For dead men don’t rise.

Decent & Amarachi
Peace unto those who mourn their love ones
We pray their souls are reserved in the cold flames of heaven and not
hot flames of hell.

WEED; MY NEED(a poem by Silva Ebieme)

Me, a troubadour,
Chanting praises for your ardor
Your sight I revere in my coven
Leaving my eyes misty and sodden.

You, my stimulus,
Awakening my sleeping muse
Erupting flows unstoppable,
Connect me with you like a cable.

Me, pain's mistress,
Lying here playing the damsel in distress
Oblivion, oh oblivion I seek
Sooth me and drive me to its peak.

You, nature's herb,
Doing actions more than a verb
Show me two paths where one laid
In Misery's coin I mustn't be paid.

Me, catch it with my nose
need no straw neither a hose
However, I'll take a style and pose
Wave this cold lest I be froze'd.

You, plant to the earth,
Draw me close, closer oh! Sweetly closer to death
Ruin my memories of happiness,
That I be out of pain's mess.
DO OR BE DONE

Tunes raised like fumes,
Tears dancing a ceremonial step
Heart getting darker, bloodier with every rising pulse
Kill or be killed.

Raging fit heaping like the sands
Thunder bellowing like rain's shower
Off setting all upsetting
Strike or be stricken.

Nasty drummers drumming war in the head
Tingling, ringing that numb sensation you heard
Hot tears making coffee on your lips
Anger or be angered

Eyes spitting venom like the volcano,
Thumping heart like the earth's quake
Revolving around thoughts suicidal
Murder or be murdered.

Eyes belying torrents of erosion
Smile convincingly suicidal
Different doors of death open to your comprehension
Suicide or genocide.

Darkening fury glistening the eyes,
Surging energy greater than the Goldsmith's forge
Vibrating through your bod like the whitering leaf
Offend or be offended.

With words setting fire to the rain,
Drown your rage in this tsunami
Bury your fears under the deathgrip of anger
And!!
Destroy or be Destroyed!!!

IN LOVE IS NO FEAR(a poem by Blueadonis)

Dedicated To Blessing Nena Precious
:::
:::
We know of the things
That make pearls precious
Here, Salt water
Reveals the savour in the nave of ocean.
Each moment we share these candles of love
Our hearty minds are illuminated
As the keys opening each stages of paradise.
Your smiles reveal the cities of Light
After a flowering balcony of colours.
Colonades of rainbow
Become the stilt of our laughter
Each door of paradise in our togetherness
Conquers macabre by revealing the days
We sat on the staircase of joy counting stars.
We knew of the things
That created the fire of admiration
Romancing our religion of Pulchritude;
White water's flow,
Gale in language of the saints
And we sit to learn from the spirit of their hearts.
The beauty of our minds are the revelations
And true descriptions
Of the Kingdom of Bliss.
So we know that the sky is blue
It's perfect humidity of humility
Calming through mother-nature.
:
Lets set the words on the tablet
Taking each wisdom to beach of glassy sea
Taking note on the paper heart of angels.
Our fear is downed and dusted..ephemera.
This is the knowledge
'Love is blue as the sky Blue
So as sky Blue covers the world
Love covers multitude of sin'

WHEN THE DEVIL SPOKE(a poem by Babatunde)

When the devil spoke
The minions and legions scuffles as smoke
Whispering in the guts of hellish folk
Wide gates of brass for a madding flock.

The new rage is new age splutter
From the pirates' qay to the soul's anchor
Theories of imperialism spasming order
Yaking to the ebbing horror....

When the devil spoke
It was like having a cigar to the transversing smoke
Young and old warped in garbs of impunity
A cold morning with brute affinity

Then races created spaces and void; a rift for derision and apathy
Apartheid spread and wars spurns the thorns of woes
The enigma of a fiend shakens verily
For the sword of discord marries at throes.....
Then the devil spoke
More angrily seeing that his time is short
And machinery of guiles paltry
How art the mighty fallen
And age will come to naught. ..vanity is all vanity

HEART OF A CHILD(a poem by Lisa Banda).

Top of Form
Bottom of Form

Heart of a child,
So soft and tender,
Never goes wild,
Stays calm, hardly bitter.
Its a heart of gold,
So warm, never cold,
No grudge does it hold,
Joy is all you see when it unfolds.
A heart so small yet so big,
So little yet so precious,
So weak yet so strong,
Hardly sad, mostly joyous.
This heart may not hold much,
But the little it does is priceless,
A heart that's so forgiving,
So loving, so believing.
It is that heart that says;
You can do anything,
You are the best there is,
You are meant for the top.
This is the heart I need,
Sadly, as I grew up,
So did my heart,
But now I opt for a transplant.
Growing up may be fun,
But I'd rather stay young,
If that's what it takes,
To keep this dear heart young.
I've realized no matter how old I grow,
Or how strong I become,
I will always be much better,
With the heart of a child.

SAVE OUR NATION (a poem by William A. Beloved)

Insurgency has been the talk in town.
Outside not sleep a crown,
That's an hallucination in this Case.
I thought we are no longer at ease.
Soul have been dizzy and drowning,
Our brethren have been wailing and mourning.
We need the change Mr. President.
Brotherly souls have change their resident,
To where they weep no more.
Mothers of host are there in sore.
Save the nation,
And cease our people lamentation,
Puzzled in spirit and soul,
Buried In favour of the ghoul.
Save our people,
The victims of trouble.
Save our people from invaders.
Save our Nation from murderer.
Our people are innocent,
Save them from danger scent.
They've had enough of pains,
Our brethren are not to be slain.
Remember your word of fame,
There's no time for game.
Save our Nation,
From pest of carnation.
Save our Brethren,
From seas of barren.
Here and there, melancholy and  macabre,
Save our Br
ethren From the planet of massacre.
Save the Nation from bed of lies,
And thugs of corrupted flies.
Save our Nation from Slave of devil,
And rampant tales of evil.
Save us from poll rig tricks,
And filthy games of politics.
Our Nation needs transformation,
And exemption from corruption.
Save us from the snare of death,
And give us placid air to breath.
